Grade 1 lever sets are tested to 800,000 cycles against a Grade 2’s 400,000, and the difference shows on a door that opens forty times a day — a shop entrance, a rental, a shared side door, a home office with its own street door.
Both halves Grade 1, keyed alike, with a clutched lever that spins free under force instead of transmitting it to the spindle. Includes the reinforced strike for both.
Fitting and care. Grade 1 hardware is heavier than what it replaces, so check the door can carry it — on a hollow slab, fit a lock block first. The clutched lever spins under force by design; do not tighten anything to try to stop it. On a door used forty times a day, lubricate the cylinder twice a year rather than once, and check the through bolts at the same interval, because cycling loosens them. Fit the reinforced strike on both halves.
