A UL 72 Class 350 thirty-minute rating at 0.8 cubic feet: the interior holds under 350°F for half an hour at a furnace temperature above 1550°F. For most houses — a single storey, a quick fire service response, papers rather than a business archive — thirty minutes is the honest requirement and the hour on plate 31 is more than is needed.
Cold-rolled steel with live-locking bolts, electronic keypad with key override, bolt-down kit and an interior sized for folders upright. 62 lb, which one person can move with a trolley.
Fitting and care. Bolt it down — the kit is included and a 62 lb safe is a carry-out otherwise. Lowest storey, solid floor, away from an exterior corner if you have the choice. Keep folders upright rather than stacked. Do not put drives or memory cards in it without the document bags from plate 13, because Class 350 is a paper rating and digital media needs Class 125. Check the keypad battery yearly, keep the override key off the premises, and wipe the interior dry if the room is unheated.
