A set of three silicone-coated fibreglass envelopes, tested to 2000°F, in passport, document and folder sizes. They are not a substitute for a rated safe — there is no UL class here and we are not going to imply one — but they buy time, they are water resistant, and they can go inside a safe to protect its contents from the steam a fire-rated safe generates as it does its job.
Double flap with hook-and-loop closure. The folder size takes a full deed or title without folding.
Fitting and care. Do not overfill — the flap has to close fully and the hook-and-loop has to engage along its whole length, or the seal that keeps hot gas out is not there. Keep them inside the safe rather than loose in a drawer if you have one; the two together are much better than either alone, because a rated safe protects against temperature and these protect the contents against the steam that the safe’s own insulation releases. Wipe with a damp cloth only. Replace any envelope whose coating has cracked or gone chalky.
