Household and vehicle first-aid pair

The 200-piece household kit from plate 10 and the vehicle kit from plate 59, bought together. Between them they cover the kitchen, the workshop and the roadside, which is where nearly every domestic injury occurs.

Same organisation and the same dated consumables in both, so one refill pack from plate 58 restocks either. Bought separately, about $171.

Both kits are organised the same way, in labelled compartments rather than a single pouch, so a person looking for a burn dressing in a hurry finds one in the same place in either. The consumables are common to both and are ANSI Class A, which is what makes a single refill pack restock either without a second order. Neither kit contains prescription medication or anything requiring a signature, and neither is a substitute for a trauma module if you own a chainsaw, a table saw or livestock — that is plate 57 and it does a different job.

Fitting and care. Household kit in the kitchen, vehicle kit strapped in the boot. Put both on one six-monthly reminder with the alarms. Both use the same Class A consumables, so a single refill pack from plate 58 restocks either — check both at the same time and restock both at once rather than discovering the second one empty later. Write the date you open any sterile item. Crank the vehicle kit’s radio at each check.
