In detail

Most first-aid kits sold to households are either job-site kits full of things nobody at home will ever use, or novelty tins with twelve plasters. This one is built to ANSI Class A content requirements — the baseline set for common injuries — then weighted towards what actually happens in a house: kitchen burns, cuts, splinters, sprains.

Organised in labelled compartments so it can be restocked rather than replaced, with a contents list inside the lid and an expiry date on the consumables. Mounts on a wall or lifts out as a case.

Fitting and care. Keep it in the kitchen, not the bathroom — that is where the injuries happen and bathroom humidity shortens the life of adhesive dressings. Check the dates twice a year on the same weekend you test the alarms, and restock from the refill pack on plate 58 rather than replacing the whole case. Write the date you opened any sterile item on it. The contents list inside the lid has a column for quantity; use it, because a kit that looks full and is missing the one thing you need is the usual failure.
