Privacy sets are not security hardware and we will not sell them as such — Grade 3 is the correct grade for an interior door and anything more is money spent where it does nothing. What matters here is the emergency release: a flat blade or coin turn on the outside face that opens the door in one motion, not a pinhole that needs a straightened paperclip and both hands.
Push-button locking, adjustable 2-3/8 to 2-3/4 inch backset, reversible. Sold as a pair so a bathroom and a bedroom match.
Fitting and care. Fit the release so the slot faces a direction you can read at a glance in poor light. Check the emergency release actually works from outside before you consider the job finished, with the door closed and locked, twice. Do not fit a privacy set to an exterior door; it has no security function and no grade that means anything outdoors. Adjust the backset before assembly rather than forcing the latch. A privacy button that sticks is nearly always paint on the spindle rather than a fault in the lock.
