A serious bleed from a saw, a chainsaw, a fall through glass or a farm machine is measured in minutes, and the contents of a domestic first-aid kit will not touch it. This module is the small set that will: a windlass tourniquet, a pressure dressing, haemostatic gauze, nitrile gloves and trauma shears.
We will say plainly that equipment without training is of limited use. There is a printed card in the module with the three steps and a QR to a free instructional course from a recognised body, and we would rather sell fewer of these to people who watch it than more to people who do not.
Fitting and care. Watch the course on the card before you need it — a tourniquet applied wrongly is worse than none, and the technique takes twenty minutes to learn. Keep the module where the risk is: the workshop, the barn, the vehicle, not the bathroom cabinet. Check the dates twice a year and check that the tourniquet windlass still turns freely. Once a tourniquet has been used in earnest it is replaced, not cleaned. Write the time of application on the casualty if you ever use it.
