Fixed and visible beats portable and lost. Every module is individually replaceable and the inside of the door carries a contents list with quantities, so restocking is a glance rather than an inventory.

Fitting and care. Mount it where it is visible, not inside a cupboard, and hit two studs at 16 inch centres rather than relying on drywall anchors; a loaded cabinet is heavier than it looks. Fit it at eye height so the contents list can be read without taking anything down. Check dates twice yearly and restock module by module. In a workshop, mount it away from the bench where the dust is, and keep the door closed — the gasket is what keeps sawdust and swarf out of the sterile packs.
